Monash Civic Centre
293 Springvale Road, Glen WaverleyThe City of Monash’s Australia Day celebrations will take place at the Monash Civic Centre on Sunday 26 January.
Australia Day celebrations will begin with a Flag Raising Ceremony, Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Elder Ian Hunter and an address by Australia Day Ambassador, Dr Hass Dellal, followed by a special Citizenship Ceremony.
- 10am: Flag Raising and Citizenship Ceremony
- 11am-2pm: Free BBQ and entertainment
- 2.30pm-4.30pm: Glen Waverley Library film (Red Dog)
Free family friendly activities
Our community event starts at 11am in the Glen Waverley Library Forecourt:
- Children’s entertainment
- Free BBQ & Babou Juice
- Rugby Ray and the Funky Monkey’s
- Live magic show
- CaribVic Steelband
- Face painting
- Kids crafts
- Film screening of Red Dog
- Waverley Gem Club
- Roving entertainers
- Children’s storytime.
Glen Waverley Library
As part of Australia Day celebrations, Glen Waverley Library will be holding a special storytime session with an Australian theme and a film screening:
- 11.30am: Australia Day Storytime 2020
- 2.30pm: Red Dog film screening (bookings essential)
Civic Centre and Glen Waverley Library – public car park
Australia Day events at the Civic Centre and Library Forecourt will require changed car parking conditions that will take effect from 4pm on Friday 24 January until 3pm on Sunday 26 January 2020.
